Where's your Slate now?

Remember that HP Slate demo running Windows 7?

Well, this Slate is no more.

HP bought Palm and it has been confirmed now that the Slate will run WebOS and not Windows 7. This means the Slate will be a lot like the iPad, running a mobile OS and not a desktop OS.

To all the Windows and Adobe shills out there, don't count your chickens until they've hatched. Microsoft lost a major partner, and Adobe still doesn't have Flash ready for WebOS. To everyone else, HP now has a more viable iPad competitor than a cut down PC running the not multitouch nor tablet friendly Adobe and Microsoft software.
