Sega brings Phantasy Star II to iOS devices (Aug 26)

From Wikipedia:
Phantasy Star II (ファンタシースター II 還らざる時の終わりに Fantashī Sutā Tsū Kaerazaru Toki no Owari ni?, lit. Phantasy Star II: The End of the Lost Age) is aconsole roleplaying game released in March 1989 for the Sega Mega Drive in Japan and in March 1990 for Sega Genesis in the U.S.
The battle system is turn-based, allowing the player to choose commands for up to four characters. Each of the eight characters has a different set of preferred weapons and armor, as well as techniques, suited to the character's job. The player must defeat enemies in the overworld and in dungeons to advance in the game.

A pleasant surprise, thank you Sega. I'm looking forward to this and DoDonPachi DaiFukkatsu on August 26th.

Microsoft Office 2011 impresses

Microsoft Office 2011 Features

Thanks Microsoft.

Vay is still the best iOS RPG in terms of controls

So many great JRPGs have been released for the iOS, but in terms of controls Vay still remains the only one so far to get it right for the iOS, even though it isn't the best among them in terms of gameplay or storyline. While many others like Final Fantasy, Chaos Rings and Crimson Gem Saga try to render a D-pad or joystick on screen, Vay makes use of simple touch controls to navigate the map, you simply tap to where you wanna go, and double tap to run. You interact with objects by simply tapping on them when standing next to them. Why hasn't anyone else did the same simply beats me

Crimson Gem Saga lands on the App Store

I've been in Tokyo away from home (Sendai) since the 2nd and somehow I missed this piece of news from almost a week ago and the release of Crimson Gem Saga on the App Store.

I remember at one point being tempted to get a PSP for it, glad it landed on the App Store.

http://itunes.apple.com/app/crimson-gem-saga/id381217285?mt=8

Crimson Gem Saga is the latest of the RPG titles to hit the App Store this year, following Shining Force and The War of Estruth, and adding to the credential of the iOS being a serious gaming platform. It is no wonder the PSP is dying. Dead?
Now all I need is some SMT from Atlus and FFV and FFVI from SE.
