Windows Chooses You!

Seen the new Microsoft ad about how expensive "and cool" Macs are?
Some random chick is given $1000 to keep if she can find a laptop of certain specs and she ends up with an hp something or another.
Microsofties all over the web are jizzing their pants but they missed the subtle notes. The random girl considers herself to be "not cool" for a Mac and based on preliminary restrictions goes with the hp. She didn't choose the hp initially, even if it is a scripted ad.
Which brings me to why buying a Mac is more of a personal preference and choice than buying any Windows PC. Most Windows fans (the ironing) claim two main reasons for going Windows games and price and then go on a rant complaining about how expensive Macs are. Which really brings me to the fact that no one chooses Windows, quite the opposite, Windows chooses them!

Lying A-Hole!

"The concern Microsoft has is that if we burnt [draft standards] into Internet Explorer 8 and passed Acid3 with 120 percent and then deploy it on so many machines, especially in the enterprise, [we have made draft standards de-facto standards] when the W3C will then want to innovate on the [evolving] standards,"

So why didn't you implement current standards, like:

  • SVG 1.1
  • CSS 2.1
  • PNG Transparency
  • DOM Level 2

IE8 is still Evil!

Why is IE8 still evil?
  1. Incomplete/Incorrect DOM support
  2. No SVG support
  3. Incomplete CSS support
  4. No HTML5 support
  5. No SMIL support
  6. Poor, incorrect, and slow JavaScript implementation
  7. Proprietary features like "Accelerators" that require additional non-standard markup

Of course this is all intentional. Microsoft is NOT incompetent; but evil!
Technologies like HTML5, SVG animations, CSS animations and SMIL would make Silverlight (and Flash) redundant.
Microsoft wants to push its proprietary Silverlight and try to keep the WWW a proprietary extension of Windows (via ActiveX) for as long as possible.

Internet Explorer is Evil!
